A family friendly collection of feel-good singalong songs that will please all ages. Great for a family road trip, but has a bit of an indie edge as well. No question that the musical choices helped launch the Shrek franchise and influenced the bolder use of rock/pop musical tracks in animated film. 

Shrek (2001) is an animated comedy film that follows the journey of a reclusive and grumpy ogre named Shrek, who lives in a swamp. His peaceful life is disrupted when a group of fairy tale creatures, banished from their homes by the evil Lord Farquaad, invade his swamp. To reclaim his land, Shrek agrees to rescue Princess Fiona, who is being held captive in a tower guarded by a dragon, so that Farquaad can marry her and become king. Along the way, Shrek is joined by a talking Donkey, and the two form an unlikely friendship. As they embark on their adventure, Shrek and Fiona discover they have more in common than meets the eye, leading to a heartwarming tale about love, acceptance, and the importance of being true to oneself.
