Flashdance (1983) is a romantic drama directed by Adrian Lyne that became one of the defining pop culture films of the 1980s. It tells the story of Alex Owens, an 18-year-old welder in Pittsburgh who dreams of becoming a professional dancer while working nights as a performer in a bar.
