Wet Wet Wet

Wet Wet Wet is a Scottish pop band that rose to fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their melodic pop-rock sound. Formed in Glasgow in 1982, the band consisted of Marti Pellow (vocals), Tommy Cunningham (drums), Graeme Clark (bass), and Neil Mitchell (keyboards). Their debut album, Popped In Souled Out (1987), showcased their soulful approach to pop music, with hits like Wishing I Was Lucky and Sweet Little Mystery. However, it was their 1994 cover of Love Is All Around (originally by The Troggs) for the Four Weddings and a Funeral soundtrack that cemented their place in pop history, spending 15 weeks at No. 1 in the UK charts.

Despite their success, Wet Wet Wet faced challenges, including Marti Pellow’s battle with addiction, which led to the band's initial split in 1997. They reunited in the early 2000s and continued to tour and release music, maintaining a dedicated fan base. Their sound, influenced by soul and soft rock, remains recognizable, and their heartfelt ballads continue to be radio staples. While Pellow eventually left the band for a solo career, Wet Wet Wet continues to perform with a new lineup, proving their music’s enduring appeal.
