Vanilla Fudge

Vanilla Fudge was an American rock band formed in 1966, known for their psychedelic and hard rock interpretations of popular songs. The band’s style, characterized by slow, heavy arrangements and symphonic elements, made them one of the pioneering groups in the development of heavy metal and progressive rock. Their cover of “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” by The Supremes became a hit and exemplified their signature style of transforming well-known songs into lengthy, dramatic pieces.

The band’s influence extended to groups like Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, who were inspired by Vanilla Fudge’s heavy sound and use of classical motifs. Although they disbanded and reunited several times over the years, Vanilla Fudge’s contributions to the evolution of rock music remain significant, and they are regarded as a foundational band in the development of the genre.
