The Refreshments

The Refreshments were an American alternative rock band from Tempe, Arizona, known for their fusion of rock, pop, and Southwestern influences. They gained mainstream attention with their 1996 album Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy, featuring their biggest hit, "Banditos," which became a staple of 90s alternative radio. Their music was characterized by witty lyrics, catchy melodies, and a playful attitude, making them a standout in the post-grunge era.

Despite their early success, The Refreshments struggled with label support, leading to their breakup in 1998. However, members of the band, particularly Roger Clyne, continued making music under Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers, carrying on their signature desert rock sound. The Refreshments’ legacy endures, especially with their iconic theme song for the animated series King of the Hill, keeping them in pop culture consciousness.
