The Moldy Peaches

The Moldy Peaches were an anti-folk duo composed of Kimya Dawson and Adam Green, known for their quirky, lo-fi, and often humorous approach to songwriting. Emerging from New York’s underground music scene in the late 1990s, they became synonymous with the anti-folk movement, which rejected polished production in favor of raw, unfiltered expression. Their self-titled album, featuring offbeat songs like Anyone Else But You, captured the playful and childlike essence of their style, blending absurdity with earnestness.

The group went on hiatus in the early 2000s but gained renewed fame when Anyone Else But You was prominently featured in the 2007 film Juno. The song, performed by Michael Cera and Ellen Page in the movie, introduced The Moldy Peaches to a new generation of fans. While both members went on to pursue solo careers, their brief but impactful presence in indie music continues to be celebrated for its charming, carefree energy and unconventional approach to songwriting.
