The Electric Prunes
The Electric Prunes were an American psychedelic rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965. Known for their experimental sound and innovative use of studio effects, the band gained attention with hits like "I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night)" and "Get Me to the World on Time." Their music combined garage rock energy with surreal, otherworldly sonic textures, making them pioneers of the psychedelic rock genre.
In Easy Rider, their song "Kyrie Eleison Mardi Gras" added to the film's trippy, atmospheric soundtrack. Although The Electric Prunes never achieved widespread commercial success, they are considered influential in the development of psychedelic music. Their experimental approach to sound continues to be appreciated by fans of 1960s rock and collectors of psychedelic music.
