The Blow Monkeys

The Blow Monkeys are a British new wave and pop band known for their eclectic mix of pop, jazz, and soul influences. Formed in 1981, the group is fronted by singer-songwriter Dr. Robert (real name Bruce Robert Howard), whose suave vocals and sophisticated songwriting have been key to their distinctive sound. The band achieved mainstream success in the mid-1980s with hits such as "Digging Your Scene" and "It Doesn't Have to Be This Way," both of which featured catchy melodies, lush arrangements, and socially conscious lyrics.

Their music often incorporates elements of glam rock, funk, and dance, setting them apart from many of their contemporaries. The Blow Monkeys disbanded in 1990 but reunited in 2007, continuing to release new music and perform live. Their enduring appeal lies in their ability to blend stylish pop with thought-provoking themes, making them a memorable and influential act in the landscape of 1980s British pop music.
