Strawberry Switchblade

Strawberry Switchblade was a Scottish pop duo formed in the early 1980s, consisting of Jill Bryson and Rose McDowall. Known for their striking gothic lolita image and dreamy, synth-pop sound, the band achieved brief but notable success with their hit single "Since Yesterday" in 1984. The song, with its melancholy melody and lush production, captured the spirit of the 80s new wave scene, blending pop accessibility with darker, introspective undertones.

Though their time in the spotlight was short-lived, Strawberry Switchblade gained a cult following due to their unique aesthetic and the bittersweet quality of their music. Their self-titled debut album remains a beloved relic of the 80s, celebrated for its blend of catchy pop hooks and emotionally resonant lyrics. Despite disbanding soon after, their influence can still be seen in modern synth-pop and indie music, particularly in the blending of visual style and musical identity.
