Stealers Wheel
Stealers Wheel was a Scottish folk-rock band formed in the early 1970s by singer-songwriters Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan. The band is best known for their hit single "Stuck in the Middle with You," which became a major international hit in 1973. The song's catchy melody, distinctive vocal harmonies, and memorable lyrics made it a staple of 1970s rock music. Stealers Wheel's self-titled debut album received critical acclaim and solidified their place in the music industry. However, the band struggled with internal conflicts and lineup changes, leading to their eventual disbandment in 1975.
Despite their brief existence, Stealers Wheel left a lasting impact on the music world, particularly with "Stuck in the Middle with You," which experienced a resurgence in popularity after being featured in Quentin Tarantino's film "Reservoir Dogs." The song's iconic placement in a key scene of the film introduced it to a new generation of listeners. Both Rafferty and Egan went on to pursue solo careers, with Rafferty achieving significant success with his solo hit "Baker Street." Stealers Wheel's legacy endures through their timeless music, which continues to be enjoyed by fans old and new.
