Los Bravos

Los Bravos were a Spanish beat group formed in 1965, best known for their international hit “Black Is Black.” The song, with its driving beat and distinctive vocals, reached the top 10 in several countries, including the United States and the UK, making Los Bravos one of the first Spanish bands to achieve international recognition. Their music blended pop, rock, and rhythm and blues, reflecting the global popularity of the British Invasion and American pop music.

Despite the early success, the band faced challenges, including the tragic death of their original lead singer Mike Kogel. Nevertheless, Los Bravos continued to perform and record, leaving a lasting legacy in Spanish pop music. They are often celebrated as pioneers who broke cultural barriers and brought Spanish rock music to the global stage.
