Kajagoogoo

Kajagoogoo is a British new wave band formed in 1979, originally named Art Nouveau before adopting their more recognizable name in 1982. The band achieved quick success with their debut single "Too Shy," which topped the UK Singles Chart and became a major hit internationally. Fronted by lead singer Limahl and backed by the distinctive instrumental skills of Nick Beggs (bass), Steve Askew (guitar), Stuart Croxford Neale (keyboards), and Jez Strode (drums), Kajagoogoo was known for their catchy, synth-driven sound and striking fashion sense, epitomizing the early 1980s new wave movement.

Despite their initial success, Kajagoogoo faced internal conflicts, leading to the departure of Limahl in 1983. The band continued with Beggs taking over vocal duties and released a couple more albums, though they never recaptured the commercial success of their debut. Over the years, Kajagoogoo has reunited on several occasions, with the original lineup coming back together for various performances and projects, maintaining a cult following among fans of 80s music. Their influence on the new wave genre and memorable hits continue to be celebrated in retrospectives of 1980s pop culture.
