Eric Burdon

Eric Burdon is an English rock singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of The Animals and later, the funk-rock band WAR. Born in 1941, he became one of the most distinctive voices of the British Invasion with The Animals’ gritty, blues-infused sound. Their hit song The House of the Rising Sun remains one of the most iconic tracks of the 1960s, along with other classics like We Gotta Get Out of This Place and Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood. His powerful, soulful voice made him a standout figure in rock and blues music.

In the early 1970s, Burdon collaborated with the band WAR, creating hits like Spill the Wine, which blended rock with funk and Latin influences. His time with WAR was short-lived, but it showcased his ability to experiment with new musical styles. Throughout his career, Burdon has continued to perform and record, maintaining his legacy as one of rock’s most enduring and influential vocalists.
