Dennis Pavao, known as “The Golden Voice of Hawaii,” was a key figure in modern Hawaiian music. His smooth falsetto singing, a style traditionally popular in Hawaiian music, captivated listeners and helped reinvigorate the genre. Pavao first gained fame as a member of the Makaha Sons of Niʻihau alongside Israel Kamakawiwoʻole before pursuing a successful solo career.
His solo albums, such as Ka Leo Ki’eki’e, highlighted his unique vocal abilities and earned him several Na Hoku Hanohano awards.
