Charles Michael Brotman
Charles Michael Brotman is a Grammy Award-winning Hawaiian guitarist and producer, known for his smooth, contemporary slack-key guitar playing. Brotman’s style is a blend of traditional Hawaiian music and modern acoustic guitar techniques, resulting in a sound that is both relaxing and sophisticated. His album Slack Key Guitar Volume 2 won the first-ever Grammy Award for Best Hawaiian Music Album in 2005.
Brotman is also the founder of Palm Records, a label that specializes in Hawaiian music and has helped to promote many of the islands’ top musicians. Through his work as a musician, producer, and label owner, Brotman has had a lasting impact on the Hawaiian music scene.
