Butthole Surfers

The Butthole Surfers were an experimental rock band known for their wild performances, bizarre lyrics, and psychedelic punk sound. Formed in Texas in the early 1980s, they gained a cult following with their chaotic, avant-garde style. Their 1996 song “Pepper” became their biggest mainstream hit, featuring a hypnotic, spoken-word vocal delivery over an eerie, looping beat.

Throughout their career, the Butthole Surfers pushed boundaries both musically and visually, earning a reputation for their surreal live shows. Though their popularity waned after the late ’90s, their influence on alternative rock and punk remains significant.
