Booker T & The MG's
Booker T & The MG's were an instrumental R&B and soul band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1962. Jones on organ, Steve Cropper on guitar, Donald "Duck" Dunn on bass, and Al Jackson Jr. on drums. They served as the house band for Stax Records, where they backed up legendary artists like Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett, while also producing their own instrumental hits.
Their smooth yet funky sound was a crucial element of the Memphis soul scene, with "Green Onions" becoming an anthem for Mod clubs and beyond.
