Mazzy Star

Mazzy Star is an American alternative rock band formed in 1989 in Santa Monica, California, by guitarist David Roback and vocalist Hope Sandoval. The band is best known for its dreamy, atmospheric sound, which combines elements of psychedelic rock, folk, and shoegaze. Their breakthrough album, "So Tonight That I Might See," released in 1993, included the hit single "Fade into You," which became an iconic song of the 1990s and brought them widespread acclaim.

Mazzy Star's music is characterized by its haunting melodies, introspective lyrics, and Sandoval's ethereal vocals, creating a distinct and evocative sonic landscape. Despite their success, the band maintained a low profile, rarely engaging in extensive promotional activities or touring. They released several other albums, including "Among My Swan" and "Seasons of Your Day," each continuing to explore their unique sound. Mazzy Star's influence can be seen in numerous contemporary artists, and their music remains a touchstone for fans of alternative and indie rock.
